Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research Department (Ideological and Political Department for short), formerly known as Social Science Department in this university, is mainly responsible for teaching undergraduates and postgraduates ideological and political theory.
This department was renamed as the school of Humanity and Law in 2004 after it successfully applied for two undergraduates' majors of law and human resources. In 2006, the department successfully applied the second-rate discipline department of postgraduates with the major in Sinification of Maxism and Ideological and Political Education, which started enrolling postgraduates in 2007.
In earlier 2010, in order to strengthen the construction of ideological and political theory course and play the main role in ideological and political education, with the first-rate discipline construction and application of Maxism theory, Shenyang Jianzhu University formally declared to found Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research Department.
In March, 25, 2011, the university held the standing committee of the Party committee and issued No. 6 [2011] document of Shenyang Jianzhu University party committee (see attachment 1 of CPC central committee document of in Shenyang Jianzhu University). The former Law and Humanity School together with Ideological and Political Department was merged into the school of Management. After its independence, Ideological and Political Teaching and Research Department has become the secondary organized institution of ideological and political theory teaching and research which is similar to other second-rate schools with the administration at the same level.
The Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research Department mainly undertakes teaching ideological and political theory in this university after its independence. This department manages teachers who teach ideological and political theory and it is also the supporting institution of Marxism Theory discipline. In addition, the department undertakes the tasks including the study of Marxism theory and research, subject construction and postgraduates' cultivation.
At present, there are 29 full-time teachers, 39 postgraduates majoring in Sinification of Maxism and Ideological and Political Education and 24 master students' supervisors who undertake instructing and teaching postgraduates in these two majors.
